Frank Daniel HARVEY 1929 -2002 SHS 1948

Funeral services for Big Horn County, Mont., resident Frank Daniel Harvey, 73, the father of three Gillette men, were at 5 p.m. Saturday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Bahruth officiating.

Cremation followed the service.

Mr. Harvey died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

He was born March 26, 1929, in Hegler, Idaho, to Frank and Stella (Osborne) Harvey. He grew up in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War, during which he attained the rank of sergeant with special recognition in electronics and communications.

He was transferred to Japan where he met and married Rino Shimokawara on March 18, 1952, in Hokaido, Japan.

After the service, they moved to Wyoming and lived in Sheridan and Gillette.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife of Kirby, Mont.; four sons, including Frank Harvey III, Fred Harvey and John Harvey, all of Gillette; one daughter; three brothers; three sisters; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
