July 21, 1930 - May 30, 1976

STORY, Wyo. - Carol Louise Hughes, 45, of Story, died Sunday in Sheridan Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was born July 21, 1930, in Plymouth, Mass., the daugh ter of Larry and Merle Woods. The family moved to Sheridan when she was a child. In 1947, she graduated from Sheridan High School and attended the University of Southern California.

She was elected Sheridan, Wyo., rodeo queen in 1949.

She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include four sons, Michael, Mark, Hoby and Leslie, and two daughters. Carta and Robin, all of Sundance; two sisters, Laurie R. Henkel of Boulder, Colo., and Rebecca Simpson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and the parents of Sheridan.

Services will be at a later date following cremation.

Champion's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
