Margaret E. Patz, 80, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 6, 1929 in Sheridan to S.R. (Richard) and Eria M. (Grisham) Welch. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1947.

On August 10, 1949 she married Joseph S. Patz in Monarch, Wyoming.

Margaret enjoyed antique shopping, collecting 'Tweety Bird' memorabilia and Fiesta ware, working word puzzles and listening to the old-time, classic stars of country music. She especially loved decorating her home for the various Holidays, with Christmas being her favorite of all. She found sincere enjoyment in getting together with the ladies of the St. Patricks Group of C.C.W. once a week throughout each new year to make ornaments for the annual Holy Name Christmas bazaar.

She was also a faithful member of the Class of '47' Luncheon Group, meeting with them monthly.

Preceding Margaret in death were her husband, her parents and a brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (DeDe) Patz, of Sheridan; a sister, Mary Lou Hoiten, of Sheridan; a niece, Laura Crawford, of Buffalo; nephews, Randy Hoiten, of Dayton; Fred Patz, of Sheridan; Greg Patz, of Juneau, Alaska and Marky Bearrow Jr., of Belgrade, Montana.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home, followed at 7:00 p.m. by a Christian Wake Service with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Holy Name Catholic Church, with internment at the Sheridan Elks Cemetery, with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. A reception will follow at the Holy Name Parish Hall.
