Sheridan native Margaret Shell, 81, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Songbird Lodge in Brownwood, Texas.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Northridge Baptist Church in Early, Texas, with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Born Feb. 8, 1928, in Sheridan to Knute and Sophie Salveson Thompson, she married James B. Shell on Aug. 25, 1948, in Sheridan.

She was a homemaker and mother and a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Comanche, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. James Bruce Shell.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters Cheri Montgomery of Denton, Texas, and Judy Day of Early; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
