Mary Jo PORTWOOD McLaughlin 1929 - 2005 SHS 1947

CASPER - Funeral services for Mary Jo McLaughlin, 75, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church by Pastor Todd von Gunten. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She died Jan. 16, 2005, at Poplar Living Center.

Born May 6, 1929, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Guy and Mary (Munson) Portwood.

On Dec. 29, 1966, she married Richard E. McLaughlin in Colorado Springs, Colo.

he worked in doctors' offices all her adult life and was employed by pediatrician Harlan Myers, M.D., for 20 years.

Her interests included baking; latch-hooking rugs; watching golf, especially Tiger Woods; reading romance novels; being with her children; and attending her grandchildren's school programs. She loved all animals, particularly her last dog, Roscoe.

She was a member of the Izaak Walton League and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son, Marvin Souther, and his wife of Phoenix; two daughters and their husbands, Becky Batello of Great Falls, Mont., and Roberta Booth of Casper; brother, Bruce Portwood, and his wife of Elko, Nev.; six stepchildren; eight grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; eldest daughter, Marsha Lynn Souther; a brother, Douglas Portwood; and her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, William Black Research Building, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032; or left at Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory, which is in charge of arrangements.
