Helen Roberta Edwards was born on July 20, 1928, in Sheridan, Wyo., and died on Nov. 28, 2018, in Anchorage, Alaska.

Helen moved to Anchorage with her husband and five small children in 1957, and has lived here in Alaska since.

She is dearly loved and survived by her three sons and their spouses, Robert and Nancy Edwards, Larry and Lisa Edwards and Patrick and Cindy Edwards; and her daughter and husband, Becky and Fred Janke. Her legacy includes 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Vinton Edwards; her youngest son, Mark Edwards; two sisters, Anne Poff and Maranna Bistor; and her brother, James Patterson.

Helen lived in Cooper Landing, Alaska, from 1970 until 2000. There, she made many friends and helped her husband with their jewelry business for the next 30 years.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Helen's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at 6 p.m. at the Sand Lake Baptist Church, 7434 Jewel Lake Road in Anchorage.
