John Casmier LANNAN 1929 - 2014 SHS 1947

John C. Lannan aka Jack, "Fat Jack" or "Action Jackson", 84 passed away in the early morning hours of September 18, 2014.

Jack was born in Sheridan, Wyoming the second of three sons born to Agnes and James Lannan. Jack grew up in Sheridan with his two brothers Jim and Bill and a little sister Mary Agnes. He attended Carroll College and the University of Wyoming where he earned a degree in petroleum engineering.

After college, he married Glenda Voelker and they lived in Casper, Wyoming. They had three children John, Colleen and Patty. During that time, Jack worked for Shell Oil and the state of Wyoming as a petroleum engineer. Following his divorce in 1969 he moved back to Sheridan. He then moved to Oregon in 1978, be closer to his children.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James and his only son John Lannan.

He is survived by daughter Colleen DiPaola and her husband Salvatore of Beaverton; daughter Patty Borst and her husband Ken of Lake Oswego; sister Mary Agnes Swarthout and her husband Clarence Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; brother Bill Lannan and his wife Gail of Helena, Montana; sister in law Treva Lannan of Sheridan, Wyoming, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday October 3, in St. Pius X Catholic Ch. 1280 NW Saltzman Rd. in Beaverton, with placement to follow at Skyline Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Marquis at Vermont Hills, where Jack spent the last five years of his life. Thank you for your sincere concern and excellent care of Jack.
