Paul Michael Lacek, Jr., 82, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Veteran's Medical Center in Sheridan.

Paul was born on January 20, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Paul and Susie (Kobielusz) Lacek. Paul grew up and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1947.

He married Virginia (Ginger) Smith on February 16, 1952.

Paul enjoyed baseball, football,(an avid Denver Bronco Fan) roller skating, bowling, model airplanes, being with his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching them in their numerous sporting activities.

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Grand Knights, and the Elks Lodge.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Ginger Depue and grandchildren Steven Shanor, Bethany Shanor and Hannah Lee.

Survivors include his children Michael Wayne Lacek, Belle Maddux, Sherrie Shanor, Pattie Burgess, Paul Lacek, John Lacek, Cindy Malyurek and Laurie Renish, his sister; Dorothy Skinner and by seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 6:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm at Kane Funeral Home with Father Ron Stolcis officiating. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial at Sheridan Elks Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors. A reception for family and friends to follow at the Parish Hall.
