Betty Lou KERBEL Mann 1928 - 2023 SHS 1947

Betty Mann passed away peacefully on October 16th in Sierra Vista, Arizona at the age of 94. She was born in 1928 to Ivan and Opal Kerbel in Sheridan, Wyoming. She grew up on the family ranch on t Creek, graduating from Sheridan High School.

Betty worked for a government housing project in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she met her future husband, Max Mann. They were married in 1950 and celebrated 67 years together before her husband’s death in 2018.

Her husband took a job with the Wyoming State Highway Dept. and due to job promotions, they moved from Sheridan to Gillette, Rawlins, Cheyenne, and Laramie. With the help of friends and family, Betty and Max built a log cabin in the Albany area where they spent many summers with friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After her husband’s death, Betty moved with her daughter to Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, knitting, drawing, ceramics, and doll making. Betty and her husband also enjoyed Square Dancing and were very active members of the Quadradangle Square Dance Club in Laramie.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Jane Ocker and Lorri Engen, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Frances Larsen.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Kuhrt, her husband, Max Mann, her parents, and her sister, Margaret Jurosek.
