Robert B. JUROSEK 1930 - 1993 SHS 1947

SHERIDAN - Funeral Liturgy for Robert B. Jurosek, 63, of Sheridan will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan by Father Eugene Sullivan. Vigil for the Deceased was held Monday at the Ferries Funeral Home. Rite of Committal will be at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Jurosek died Dec. 30, 1993, at Sheridan County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Thermopolis. In 1942, he moved to Sheridan and attended Holy Name School, graduating from Sheridan High School. He then attended the University of Wyoming and later graduated from Chadron State Teacher's College in Nebraska. In 1953, he married Margaret Kerbel in Sheridan. Mr. Jurosek was a partner in the Sheridan Inn during the late 1950s and 1960s. He had also been involved in the following business: Trail Bar, Levi Realty Company, The Sport Shop and BHJ Insurance Co.

Mr. Jurosek devoted much of his time to sports activities in the Sheridan area. He coached football and basketball at Holy Name School; refereed basketball and Jurosek football games for many years; was involved in Little Guy football; and played fast pitch soft-ball for many years. He also assisted the Sheridan swim teams, was a founder and past treasurer of the Sheridan Booster Club and assisted with the maintenance of Thorne-Rider Stadium and at many Legion baseball tournaments.

A past member of the Sheridan Planning Commission and Jaycees, Mr. Jurosek was also a member of Elks Lodge No. 520, Knights of Columbus, Quarterback Club, Wyoming Cowboy Joe Club, and Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening dartball and restoring furniture.

Survivors include a son, Jim Jurosek of Big Timber, Mont.; three daughters, Terry, Julie and Toni Jurosek, all of Sheridan; his mother, Mary Jurosek of Sheridan; a brother, Mike Jurosek of Sheridan; and numerous other relatives.

Memorials to benefit either Holy Name Athletic Fund or to the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Contributions may be made in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan 82801.
