SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Dorothy H. Crump, 76, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor William Heine officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Sept. 23, 2003, at her residence in Sheridan.

Born March 22, 1927, in Acme to Frank and Pauline (Leis) Sperl, she grew up in Sheridan and attended schools there, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1946. She then attended college in Thermopolis to become a nurse.

When she returned to Sheridan, she met Ray L. Crump; they were married there in May 1949.

The couple moved to Casper, then to California, residing in these two states until she returned to Sheridan in the mid-1980s.

Known as a kind, quiet person, she was devoted to her family, spending many hours talking with them on the phone. She loved listening to music.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory A. Crump and his wife of Corona, Calif., and Tom J. Crump of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Sandra West of Temcula, Calif., and Kathy Punt of Lodi, Calif.; four grandchildren; and numerous friends and acquaintances.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
