Maxine PAXTON Shosten 1928 – 2016 SHS 1946

Maxine Shosten, 88, of Sheridan, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Westview Health Care Center after a struggle with mounting health issues.

She was born January 26, 1928 to Haug and Kate Paxton in Buffalo, Wyoming. Maxine graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married William Dale Shosten November 10, 1950 in Hardin, Montana.

She worked at JC Penney and then at First National Bank for many years.

Maxine was a member of Four Square Gospel, First Baptist Church, and Mercy and Grace Ministries. She loved reading her Bible, gardening in her flowers, but hated pulling weeds. She also enjoyed, spending time in her beautiful log home built by her husband Bill Shosten. Maxine deeply loved her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Shosten, February 4, 2009; her brother, Donald Paxton; and two sisters, Charolette at age 9 and Mel Francis at age 3.

Maxine is survived by her sons, William Paul Shosten of Sheridan, Wyoming and Anton Dale Shosten of Lovell, Wyoming; grandchildren, Nicki Shosten of Casper, Wyoming, William Donald (Melissa) Shosten of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bryson Shosten of Sheridan, Caitlynn, Audrianna, Riker, and Tiberius Shosten of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law, Frank Mediate; sister-in-law, Mary Paxton; nieces and nephews; and her friends.

A Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Champion Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Gifford officiating. Interment will follow at the Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo.
