SHERIDAN -- Private family services for Arlene N. Griffin, 79, will be held at a later date.

She died March 9, 2007, in Sheridan Manor.

She was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Denver to Leonard M. and Madeline (Wiley) Hebrew.

She moved to Sheridan with her parents when she was three years old, grew up and attended schools there and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She attended nursing school at the University of Montana at Missoula and graduated as a registered nurse.

After graduation, she worked in Billings before marrying Robert Pooley in Thermopolis.

They lived in Worland, Casper and Billings where he owned and operated flower shops.

Her husband died in 1957 and she moved to Sheridan in 1959, where she was a secretary for the YMCA and J.M. McDonald's clothing store.

She married Richard Griffin in Sheridan in 1968 and he died in 1970.

She moved to California in 1971, where she lived in the San Francisco and Santa Rosa areas doing restorative work on historical buildings.

She moved back to Sheridan in 1998.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Professional Woman's Association.

She enjoyed restoring historical items and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Robert Pooley of Sheridan; one brother, Merrill Hebrew of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one sister, Barbara Jayne of Kona, Hawaii; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands and one daughter.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
