SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Zeola "Fern" Banas, 76, will be held Monday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan with Pastor Charles Lucas officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Cremation has taken place locally.

She died Sept. 23, 2004, at her residence.

She was born in Belleview, Colo., on Jan. 6, 1928, to James and Dora (Brubaker) Hale.

On Oct. 12, 1953, she married Andrew Banas in Basin. The couple raised three children together.

Prior to moving to Sheridan 70 years ago, she also lived in Belleview and Buffalo.

She enjoyed cooking, traveling and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew of Sheridan; her daughter, Jackie Banas of Santa Clarita, Calif., two sons, John Banas of Houston, Texas, and Joe Banas of Greeley, Colo.; three grandchildren; and her sister, Jessie Mitchell of Sheridan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley; and her brother, Jack.
