Rose Mary GILLIS Bennick 1928 - 2006 SHS 1946
SHERIDAN -- Memorial services for Rose Mary Bennick 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ronald Stolcis officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

A Christian Wake Service will be held today at 7 p.m., at Kane Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating.

She died June 10, 2006, at her residence.

She was born July 27, 1928, in Sheridan to James and Agnes (Burgey) Gillis. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1946 and attended St. Mary's College.

She married Glen E. Bennick on Nov. 27, 1948, in Sheridan.

She worked as a medical secretary for many years.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, handwork and making beautiful quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She loved spend time with and reading to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of Sheridan, two daughters and their husbands, Mary Drake and Celia Wallenkamp, all of Sheridan; three sons and their wives, Glen Bennick and James Bennick, all of Sheridan and Mark Bennick of Huntsville, Ala.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bill Luckett of Jackson, Miss., and a brother, Neil Gillis of Denver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael Bennick, two brothers, Roy Gillis and James Gillis and a sister, Ceil Kennedy.

Kane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
