CODY, Wyo. - LeLand W. Georgen came to Cody in 1958 and worked as a guidance counselor until 1966, when he retired because of ill health.

He died at age 56 Sunday morning in Powell Nursing Home.

A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Mr. Georgen was a member of Phi Delta Theta, American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge, Knights Templar, Disabled American Veterans and Phi Delta Kappa.

Born in Buffalo, a son of Lee and Leone Carmen Georgen, he married Blllye Zimmerman In Lodge Grass, Mont., in 1948.

He received BA and master's degrees from University of Wyoming,

Survivors include his wife; two daughters. Mrs. Karen Ballinger of Cody and Mrs. Kathy Stevens of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Kenneth of Antioch, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Atchison of Sheridan, Wyo.; and two granddaughters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ Episcopal Church. Burial will be In Riverside Cemetery with Ballard Funeral Home In charge.
