Former Sheridan resident Gayle Marie (Evans) Allison, 77, of Barrington, Ill., died Sunday, May 7, 2006.

A memorial celebration and reception took place May 20 at The Garlands in Barrington.

Mrs. Allison was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Hardin, Mont., to Belton W. and Ella M. (Mauksted)Evans.

She later lived on Pass Creek outside Parkman. She attended Slack School through the eighth grade and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married Charles F. Allison III 57 years ago. She was a home-maker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, genealogy and travel.

She held degrees from Northwestern and Northern Illinois universities.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Beryl J. (Evans) Boettcher.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Teresa M. Klocker and Karen L. Trom; four sons, Charles F., James B., Robert J. and Thomas E.; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
