BUFFALO -- Funeral services for Nadene Zowada, 78, will be held Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at 10 a.m., at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Tellez officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with graveside services to immediately follow the services.

She died Dec. 24, 2007, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Mont.

She was born Jan. 31, 1929, in Upton, to Wray and Leora Case. She moved with her family to Sheridan, where she grew up and went to school.

She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1946 and on Nov. 17, 1946, she married Walter "Dude" Zowada in Sheridan.

They made their home in Monarch, where her husband worked in the coal mine.

They moved to Sheridan for a short time and later moved to Buffalo, where they lived and worked at the maintenance camp on Pole Creek for the highway department. They lived at Pole Creek until they retired in 1984 after 30 years of service and moved into Buffalo.

Her husband died in April 2007 and in June, she moved to Sheridan, where she lived until the time of her death.

She was a member of the Snow Buffs Snowmobile Club, the VFW Auxiliary, the Homemakers Guild, NRA, a charter member of the Creative Fiber Guild and the Big Horn Mountain Polka Club.

She loved to fish, hunt, snowshoe, shoot small-bore rifles, hunting artifacts, gardening and cross stitching.

She carded, spun and dyed her own wool to knit sweaters. She loved all crafts, especially quilting.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Dawson Case of Ranchester and Tom Case of Sheridan and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Senior Center, in care of Adams Funeral Home, 351 N. Adams, Buffalo.
