Lucille Shorten of Billings died in her sleep on Nov. 23, 2018, at St. Johns nursing home.

Lucille was born Feb. 27, 1925, in O’Neil, Nebraska, to John and Loretta (Hazel) Reisch. She was the youngest of six siblings.

She joined Cadet Nurse Corps in the second World War.

She married Leon Shorten on Nov. 5, 1949. Together they had five children they raised in Bozeman. Lucille loved to run and bicycle and gave her time and money to the Gallatin animal shelter.

She is survived by her children: Cheryl Fleming of Bozeman, Perry shorten (Sheila) of Glasgow and Brent Shorten (Teddi) of Billings; grandchildren Deanna, Melissa, Reilly, Maryemma and Camden; and great-granddaughter Clarissa and great-great-grand- daughter Rhyla.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Leon; son, Jim Shorten; daughter Penny King; and both parents.

A private service will be held with family.
