BIG HORN, Wyo. - Emily Ruth Gibbons Norwood was raised on Lower Prairie Dog and lived in Sheridan County most of her life. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the BPOE Does and American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Norwood, 62, died Wednesday in Sheridan County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Sheridan, Wyo, a daughter of Willis S. and Bonita Steene Perkins. Her first husband preceded her in death. On Jan. 7, 1985, she married Clarence "Ike" Norwood in Winner, S.D.

Survivors include her husband of Big Horn; four sons, H. Ray Gibbons of Great Falls, Mont, Greg Gibbons and Jack Norwood, both of Sheridan, Wyo, and Roger Gibbons of Cheyenne; four daughters, Barbara Gibbons, Cheryl Zack, Irene Sager and Mary Allen, all of Sheridan, Wyo.; a brother, W. W. "Bill" Perkins of Sheridan, Wyo.; a sister, Marge Hamilton of Decker, Mont; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 am Saturday in Champion Funeral Home with burial in the Elks Cemetery.
