Milo NAMTVEDT 1927 - 1995 SHS 1945

Milo C. Namtvedt, 68, died July 2, in Laramie.

He was born April 28, 1927, in Groton, S.D., to Cornelius j. and Margit Namtvedt.

The family moved to Heninger, N.D., then Buffalo, then to Sheridan, where he graduated from Sheridan High School in 1945.

He served in the Navy and attended the University of Wyoming. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1951.

He married Lois Ratcliff on Sept. 12, 1948, in Sheridan. He worked for Peter Kiewit Sons, and retired in 1983.

He helped establish the Southeast Sheridan Improvement District, served on the Sheridan Water Interest Group, and was on the Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board Advisory Board.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 43, Kalif Shrine, Scottish and York Rite, the Elks Lodge 520, U.S. Navy League, the Flying Cowboys, FMCA and the First Christian Church. He was president of the Western Executives, a life member of the UW Alumni Association, and past vice president of the UWAA Board of Directors, and was on the UW Foundation President’s Council.

He is survived by his wife of Sheridan; a son, Conrad Namvedt of Laramie; a daughter, Karyn Fuller of Cheyenne; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ferries Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
