COLDWATER - Dr. Ralph W. Lenz, 47, of 189 W. Chicago St., was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday at Branch County Community Health Center where he was taken after being stricken at home with an apparent heart attack. .

He was born in Park City, Mont., and moved to Coldwater to open a medical practice in 1970, coming from Ann Arbor.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy Grinden; a daughter, Mrs. Rudy (Darcy Jo) Engholn of Ann Arbor; sons, Peter and Timothy Lenz, both of Kalamazoo, and Reed, at home; sisters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Kerbel of Banner, Wyo., and Mrs. Nick (Helen) Sembra of Denver, Colo., and a brother, Howard Lenz of Thermopolis, Wyo.

A celebration of new life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements were by Putnam Funeral Home.
