OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - August 28, 2001

SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Glenn Hoff, 74, will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sheridan Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Charles Lucas officiating.

Interment will be in Masonic No. 43 section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

He died Aug. 23, 2001, at Deaconess Medical Center in Billings, Mont.

A Sheridan native, he was born Feb. 19, 1927, to Charles G. and Laura E. (Howell) Hoff.  He attended the Sheridan school system and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1945.  He later attended Heiman's Business College.  He was inducted into the Army in 1945, trained at Fort Bliss, Texas, in artillery and served in the 53rd Field Artillery in the Pacific.  He worked for the C.B.&Q Railroad after returning home from the service.  He later went to work for the Veteran's Administration Medical Center and was a supervisor in Personal Property Management when he retired in 1984.

He married Arlene M. Loucks on Oct. 22, 1948, in Sheridan.  They attended the Wesleyan Church in Sheridan.

He was a Past Master of Big Horn Mountain Lodge No. 43 A.F.& A.M., a Past Grand Commander, a Past Grand High Priest, Past Most Illustrious Grand Master and Past M.E. Grand High Priest.  He was Past Puissant Sovereign of St. Denny Conclave.  He was a member of Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Equality York Rite College No. 92, KYCH and a Past Worthy Patron of Friendship Chapter No. 51 O.E.S., Sheridan.  He enjoyed fishing and camping in the Big Horn Mountains, as well as roller skating, running the community roller rink for numerous years.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Hoff of Sheridan; a son, Wayne Hoff of Sheridan; two daughters, Linda Westwang of Sheridan and Laurie Bartenhagen of Williston, N.D., five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Denton Hoff.
