FRUITVALE, Colo. -- Memorial services for former Sheridan resident Nelda Fern Thompson, 78, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 1, in Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Fruitvale.

She died Nov. 28, 2004, at Mesa Manor in Grand Junction, Colo.

Born Sept. 6, 1926, in Olympia, Wash., she was the daughter of Fern and Murrell Halstead; and was raised and educated in Sheridan. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1945.

On Feb. 16, 1947, she married Mervin "Tommy" Thompson in Sheridan.

Survivors include her daughter, Shawna Music, and her husband; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Ardith Kellogg; and brother, Cecil Halstead.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Richard Halstead; and a sister, Audrey Tribby.
