Evelyn Mae GEMPLER Roush 1927 - 2017 SHS 1945

Evelyn Mae Roush, 89, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 13, 2017, in Westview Health Care Center.

She was born on October 20, 1927, in Sheridan Wyoming to Ernest C. and Edith Gempler. After Edith and Ernest divorced, Edith married Everett Evans who raised Evelyn and her brother Richard Gempler as his own. Evelyn married the love of her life Bob Roush in 1946, after he returned home from WWII.

As a homemaker, Evelyn enjoyed sewing, gardening, church activities and spending time with loved ones and friends. In her free time, she loved to sew dresses for all of her grandchildren, her sewing talents also included making curtains and quilts for those that needed them. Evelyn's favorite times of the year were when family came to visit for the holidays and spending time in her flower garden while planting her roses and admiring the birds flying around her sunflowers.

Evelyn had the sweetest spirit and had a smile that would just light up the room. She will be greatly missed by all of her family members and many friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Roush in 2012, her mother Edith, father Ernest Gempler, stepfather Everett, brother Richard, and one grandchild Connie Terrell.

She is survived by her four children, Janie K. Terrell (David) of Escondido CA, Bonnie L. Judge (Robert) of Colstrip, MT, Daniel C. Roush of Denver, CO, and Mark G. Roush of Sheridan. She was blessed with twenty two grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Thursday January 19, 2017, at Champion Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday January 20th, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter – Day Saints on Colonial Drive in Sheridan, with a viewing before the service at 9:00 a.am. Following the Service Interment will be held at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, where Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her spouse, Bob Roush.
