Hollis L. “Holly” Davidson, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, in his Sheridan home surrounded by his family.

Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Jeremy Mason officiating. A luncheon reception will follow at the Sheridan Senior Center. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Sheridan to Lambert and Florence (Achenbach) Davidson, he grew up and graduated from high school here.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea.

After the service he returned to Sheridan, where he married LaVurne Cox on Dec. 25, 1948.

He worked as a machinist for Holly Sugar, Sheridan Iron Works, Kennedy Auto, Skarr Motor and Valley Motor Supply, retiring in 1983.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood- and metalworking, restoring antique cars, and fabricating items for family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce and Dan of Sheridan; a daughter, Connie Turley of Sheridan; a brother, Norris Davidson of Story; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Memorials may benefit Hospice of the Big Horns or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
