Kenneth W. WALKER 1926 - 1972 SHS 1944

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Kenneth W. Walker, 46, died Monday in his home near Sheridan. Sheridan County Coroner John Ferries said the death was caused by an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was born May 23, 1926, in Sheridan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Walker.

He married Norma B. Kohlruss Sept. 4, 1948, in Sheridan.

He was vice president and cashier of the First National Bank of Sheridan.

Mr. Walker served as commander on both district and state levels of the VFW and American Legion. He was a member ol Elks Lodge, Kiwanis Club, Sheridan Race Car Association, the Whedon Cancer Foundation and the Rodeo Board. He was on the board of directors of the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce, past scoutmaster and a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Mr. Walker was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Wayne, David and Ronald, all of the family home; two daughters, Suzanne and Mrs. Maria Norskog; his father and his stepmother Floris of Sheridan; a sister, Mrs. Joan White of Escindido, Calif.; a brother, Darrell of Pinedale, and one grandson.

The Elks Lodge will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday from Champion's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
