Robert Keith HAMILTON 1926 - 1993 SHS 1944

SHERIDAN - Services for Robert K. Hamilton, 66, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. Nolan Obermueller.

Mr. Hamilton died Aug. 7, 1993, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 5, 1926, at Sheridan, the son of Charles W. and Gladys J. (Holcomb) Hamilton. He attended elementary school, high school and college in Sheridan.

On Feb. 23, 1945, he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 102nd Infantry Division as a sharpshooter until July of 1946.

On June 22, 1952, he married Gaylia J. Kollmorgen at Madison, Neb.

Mr. Hamilton served as a U.S. Border Patrol agent for 20 years; during that time he became a master of firearms with both pistol and rife. He was a firearms instructor and range officer for the Spokane sector for 20 years. He then retired and returned the Sheridan.

Together with his son, Robert, Mr. Hamilton bought the Mr. Trash Garbage Service. He retired for a second time on Dec. 31,1 992.

A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Sheridan, Mr. Mountains, hunting, camping, fishing, and his country. His hobbies included mining gold, and hunting elk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Claude Lee; and one brother, Harry Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Robynne J. Davis of Vancouver. Wash., Gayle C. Sobotka ana Robert R. Hamilton, both of Sheridan, Caryl L. Hamilton of Portland, Ore., and Russell W. Hamilton of Sheridan; one brother, Charley S. Hamilton of Sheridan; and four grandchildren.

Memorials to either the Whedon Cancer Foundation, the Sheridan County Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice may be made in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan 82801.
