Betty " Corley" Post formally know as Jean Elizabeth Post passed away peacefully on November 23, 2016 at the age of 89. Her Nieces Sharon and Melodie Buell were by her side.

Betty was born at three minutes ?till midnight on Easter Sunday April 17, 1927 to Kenneth and Dorothy "Steil" Corley at her Grandmother's, Elizabeth Steil's, home in Sheridan Wyoming. She grew up with her 4 brothers Ray, Junior, Chuck ,Ike and sister Rosemary in Ulm, Wyoming where her family were ranchers.

Betty had many fond memories of a rural childhood, she rode a horse with her brother Chuck to a one room school house where grades 1-8 gathered each day. In her small ranching community there were barn dances, Halloween parties, community dinners, cows to milk, chickens to feed and neighbors to visit. When she grew up she enjoyed flagging down the train to Sheridan for the week to attend High School.

Betty met Marion Post her husband while showing her 4H steer at the county fair. They were married on October 4, 1945 after Marion returned from WWII.

Soon after Betty began a life long career of working as a civil service employee. She retired after working for 36 years as a Secretary for for the Veterans Administration in Sheridan Wyoming and as a Supply Secretary for the US Navy in Dolphin Research in San Diego California.

Betty and Marion's home at ?44 Avon Street in Sheridan became the place where family and friends gathered for Birthday celebrations, Holidays, Rodeo week,Music nights, BBQ's and any reason to enjoy Aunt Betty's amazing homemade cooking. She was famous for her special Oatmeal cookies which she stored in coffee cans, Christmas Fudge, Hot Fudge Sundaes and many delicious signature " Aunt Betty" meals.

Betty was greatly loved and respected by all who knew her. Her calm, wise and nurturing temperament endeared her to every one's heart.

In 1968 Betty and Marion moved to San Diego to be close again to her sister and nieces Sharon and Jacquetta and later to Medford, Oregon where she comfortably passed the last years of her life once again as the family gathering place.

Betty is survived by her brothers Chuck Corley of Laramie, Wyoming, Ike Corley of Gardnerville, Nevada, her Nieces Sharon Buell of Bend,Oregon and Jacquetta Buell of Costa Rica. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews who hold her dear in their hearts.

We will all miss her Birthday cards which she sent every year. If separated in a store we could always find her in the greeting card section looking for the perfect thoughtful greeting card for her beloved family and friends.
