OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - October 06 2005

GILLETTE -- The funeral for Gillette resident Ruth Carolyn Bennick, 79, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 5, at First Baptist Church in Gillette by Pastor Mark Jervis. Interment will follow in Gillette's Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

She died Oct. 2, 2005, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, of natural causes.

Born Aug. 9, 1926, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Lennie (Teague) and Leslie Braun; was raised and educated there; and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She then worked as a dental assistant.

On April 14, 1946, she married Junior Lewis Bennick in Sheridan.

They made their home in Gillette. A full-time mother until their children went to school, she then worked part-time for Hunter's Drug; and, later, at The Hope Chest.

Her interests included traveling; spending time with her family at their cabin in the Big Horns; and, recently, reading and working crossword puzzles. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Gay Robertson, Margo Clements and her husband, Toby Montgomery and her husband and Leslie Dowell, and son, Greg Bennick, and his wife, all of Gillette; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; her parents; a sister, Helen Scott; a brother, Alan Braun; and her stepmother, Daisy.
