Julia Brooks YONKEE Burris 1924 - 1977 SHS 1943

Apr. 6, 1924 - July 29, 1977.

Julia Y. Burris, 53, of 3816 Tanager Lane S., who was a teacher and managed the Lodge Grass Hotel and dining room, died Friday in St. Vincent's Hospital.

Music was her hobby, and for 10 years she was organist at Lodge Grass Little Brown Church. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church choir in Billings.

She was born in Sheridan, Wyo., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Yonkee, and grew up on the Seven Cross Ranch at Parkman, Wyo. After graduating from Sheridan. High School she attended college at Greeley, Colo., and at; Laramie, Wyo.

She and her husband, Ralph W. Burris, settled in Lodge Grass in 1950. They moved to Billings last August.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Legion Auxiliary and Grandmothers Club of Lodge Grass.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Richard R. of 1129 Yale Ave. and Robert W. at home; her mother, a ; brother, Lyman B. Yonkee, and a sister, Ada Lou Yonkee, all of Sheridan; two other sisters, Mrs. John Gentry of -Lodge Grass and Mrs. LeRoy Dockery of Parkman, Wyo.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Luke's Epis copal Church. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Yonkee family cemetery at the Seven Cross Ranch.
