SHERIDAN -- The funeral for Sheridan resident Stella Gorzalka, 82, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 30, at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan by the Rev. Tom Ogg. Interment will follow in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

She died Aug. 26, 2005, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Dietz, she was the daughter of Anna (Wierzbicki) and Joe Stuka; and graduated from Sheridan High School.

On Jan. 31, 1948, she married Frank C. Gorzalka in Sheridan.

They settled in Ulm.

She enjoyed embroidery, reading, cooking, and talking to her friends; and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Tom Gorzalka, and his wife of Ulm; three daughters, Margie Rideout and Patti Bell, both of Sheridan, and Terri Fulton of Flower Mound, Texas; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Henrietta Sutphin and Mary Weber of Casper and Wanda Godawski of Chicago; brother, Walter Stuka of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two infant brothers; two sisters, Nellie Mae and Annie Stuka; and a brother, Carl Stuka.
