Louis Henry PLACHEK 1923 - 2000 SHS 1943

SHERIDAN -Funeral services for Louis H. Plachek, 70, will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kay Clark and Kevin Jones officiating. Interment is in Masonic No. 43 section of Sheridan Memorial Cemetery.

He died June 25, 2000, at West View Health Care Center in Sheridan.

He was hum Oct. 10. 1923. in Acme, the son of Joseph and Anna (Stanko) Plachek. He grew up in Acme and attended school there through the eighth grade and then graduated from Sheridan High School in 1943.

He worked for Sheridan Coal Co. during World War II.

He married Della Sneath on July 1. in Sheridan.

He worked as a bartender at the Sheridan Inn, Lotus and Kalif Shrine. Later, he began work at Stevens Fryberger where he worked for 20 years as a clerk in the men's department until retiring.

HE was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Masonic Lodge No. 43 and the York Rite Bodies.

He was past treasurer of the Culinary Workers Union and past secretary of the United Mine Workers.

He enjoyed yard work, animals and his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe; and sisters, Marie Wright, Anna Kryana and Teresa Zowada.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan; a son, Gary Plachek and his wife of Sheridan; a brother, Stanley Plachek of Miles City, Mont.; a sister. Helen Plain of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; one granddaughter: one great-granddaughter; and four nieces.

Memorials may benefit the Children's Travel Fund, Box K. Sheridan or a charity of the donor's choice.
