Esther Evelyn Stevison, 79, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Sheridan Manor, where she had resided the past several years.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating.  Family and friends are invited to meet at Kane Funeral Home before the services.

Mrs. Stevison was born June 9, 1923, in Sheridan to Charles and Mary E. McCoy. She attended schools here.

She married John B. Stevison Jan. 10, 1946.

She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She loved working with children, the autumn season and her cats, especially Smoky.  Her father was an Irish immigrant, and she was proud of her Irish ancestry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, John C. of Sheridan; two daughters, Joyce Arbach of Hoven, S.D.; a brother, Carl F. McCoy of Sheridan; and two granddaughters.
