Leona Beatrice LONG Williams 1925 - 1997 SHS 1943

SHERIDAN - Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held for Leona Beatrice Williams, 71, on Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating . Interment will follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died March 19, 1997, at Westview Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Silver City, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Bertha Long. She was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

On March 9, 1953, she married Ernest E. "Ernie" Williams in Billings, Mont.

She owned and operated the City Drive Inn in Sheridan with her husband for 17 years. She loved to cook, bake, sew and sing. She also enjoyed bowling and playing golf. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time and taking drives with her family, gardening and yard work. She belonged to the B.P.O. Does for a while and joined the First Christian Church two years ago, where she sang in the choir and helped with the soup kitchen.

Survivors include her husband of Sheridan; two daughters, Sandy Williams and Debbie McCoul, both of Sheridan; a half-brother, Lloyd Long of Sheridan and one granddaughter.

Memorials in her memory may be made to the Whedon Cancer Foundation, in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan, 82801.
