Herbert Dana KERNS 1925 - 1952 SHS 1943

SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Funeral services were held Tuesday for Herbert Dana Kerns, 27, Parkman rancher, who died Sunday at Sheridan County Memorial Hospital. He was a victim of polio.

Mr. Kerns was born in Sheridan and lived his entire life in this community. He was a member of the 1943 graduating class at Sheridan High School and served three years in the Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Sheridan Lodge No. 8, A.F.& A.M., and the Sheridan Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gloria Kerns, whom he married in Chicago in 1949; a daughter, Deborah Ada; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kerns; two brothers, Kenneth Kerns in U.S. Navy and Burton Kerns who recently returned from service with the Army in Germany; a sister, Mrs. James R. Daly, Gillette, and his grandmothers, Mrs. J. W. Kerns of Hardin and Mrs. C. H. Patterson of Parkman.

The Rev. W. J. Moris officiated and graveside services were in charge of Sheridan Masons.
