Ronald P. Germann, 80, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at his Sheridan residence.

Public viewing is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Pastor Wilbur Holz officiating.

Born Oct. 4, 1923, in Jackson to Walter and Pearl (Thacker) Germann, he grew up in Moran and moved to Sheridan in 1940. He finished high school and then worked for Birney Freight Lines and Germann Gas Service.

He married Elsie Burr on Dec. 7, 1957, in Sheridan. In 1977 they opened Ron's L.P. Gas Service , retiring in 1994.

They wintered in Yuma, Ariz. and spent a few summers in Alaska and Canada.

Mr. Germann enjoyed boating, waterskiing, fishing, hunting, shooting, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family.

A lifetime member of Sheridan County Sportsmen's Association, and Elks Club, he also belonged to Arizona Old Time Fiddlers Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry of Sheridan and Gary of Gillette; a daughter, Wanda Ans of Billings; a brother, Oliver Germann of Buffalo; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
