Glynn COSTER 1924 - 2013 SHS 1943

Glynn S. and Wilma Coster went to their heavenly home in December 2013. Glynn passed on Dec. 29 following the passing of the " love of this life" Wilma, who passed on Dec. 4, 2013, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Glynn was born to Glynn S. Coster Sr. and Sydney Pearl Johnston on Sept. 23, 1924, in Arvada, Wyoming. He went to school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

After school, he went into the military as part of the 10th Mountain Division and served in Italy in WWII. Upon returning to the states he married Wilma Kelley who was born on Oct. 13, 1927, to Vea R. Kelley and Nona Ellingsford in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was raised with five siblings and went to school in Sheridan.

Glynn and Wilma raised three children - Rollie, Lora Ann and the youngest Randy who passed away on Jan. 3, 2014.

Glynn was a lifelong railroader (which he loved), a jokester who loved telling jokes to everyone. He was also a photographer; if you wanted a picture of someone, a train or anything at all you just had to ask Glynn. Glynn was a wonderful father that fished and spent much of his time in the Bighorn Mountains with his children.

He also spent a lot of time with his little brother, Eddie, of Story, Wyoming.

Wilma worked hard as a first class waitress. She was also a VFW#1560 Auxiliary president and put years of work into helping the auxiliary honor veterans.

She was a member of the UTU#951 Auxiliary and helped Glynn do the bookkeeping when he was secretary/treasurer of UTU#951.

One the couple's funnest times in their lives was when Wilma was the assistant coach of a little league team and Glynn was head coach. They coached many young men including both sons, Rollie and Randy.

Wilma and Glynn loved to dance together and made a tremendous couple.

They loved their families and were the best parents, always having time for their family.

Glynn and Wilma are survived by their daughter Lora Ann and husband John of Sheridan; son Rollie and Myra of Nisland, SD; brother Eddie Coster and companion Dollie of Story; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

An inurnment is being held at the Elks Cemetery in the Sheridan Cemetery on May 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. There will be a 21-gun salute in honor of Glynn's military service. A celebration of life will be held after at the Elks Club at 520 Brundage in Sheridan at noon, followed by a reception.
