SHERIDAN -- Funeral services for John Arzy, 86 will be 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Elks Section.

Viewing was held at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

He died Feb. 29, 2008, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

He was born January 13, 1922, on the family homestead northeast of Sheridan, to Joseph & Mary Agnes (Selig) Arzy.

He grew up on the ranch, attended Wagner School and graduated from Sheridan High School. He worked for Leo Petrie before working for Green Heating /Orr Plumbing for 27 years.

He married Mamie Tyler on Feb. 18, 1978, in Sheridan. He worked for Roush Plumbing and Zowada Plumbing until he retired in 1983.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Sheridan Elks Lodge #520.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie, step-son, Michael Carnley brothers, Ray and George Arzy all of Sheridan, sisters, Nellie Wolfe of Waskom, Texas, Francis Miech of Sheridan and Florence Young of Decker, Mont., and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Arzy, brothers, Joe and Bill Arzy, and sister, Albenia Wolfe.

Memorials may be made to benefit the Hospice of the Big Horns, 1401 W. 5th St., Sheridan, or the donor’s choice of charity.
