Velma Wieditz Theisen Miles, 86, of Sheridan passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Sheridan Manor.

Velma was born in Sheridan, WY on October 22, 1924 to Charles and Emma (Grotefeld) Wieditz.

After graduating from Sheridan High School in 1942 she attended business college for two years. Over the years she worked at Brouilettes and Sheridan College as an Administrative Assistant.

She was married to Richard E. Theisen until his deat h in 1964. She was then married to John R. Miles until his death in 1990.

Velma enjoyed Bridge/cards, needle work, her pets and gardening. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and Does (Elks Club).

Velma was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a son Daniel Theisen and a brother Charles Wieditz.

She is survived by her son Bill (Barbara) Theisen of Elizabeth, CO, daughters; Debbie Corley of Sheridan, WY and Richie (Scott) Oviatt of Belgrade, MT a sister Marguerite Auten of Milan, MI along with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services for Velma will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Paul J Cain officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

Memorials to honor Velma may be made to the First Congregational Church Organ Fund, 100 West Works, Sheridan, WY 82801.
