Patsye WALLACE Hamilton 1925 - 1990 SHS 1942

SHERIDAN - Services for Patsye Wallace Hamilton, 64, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, with Rev. Richard Edgerton officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton died Jan. 4, 1990, at Billings Deaconess Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born July 4, 1925, on Five Mile Flat near Parkman, the daughter of David and Dorothie (Brown) Wallace. She attended Sheridan High School, the University of Wyoming and the University of Americas in Mexico, where she obtained her master’s degree.

She began her teaching career at Sheridan High School and had spent the last 32 years as a professor at Sheridan College. In the past she taught Spanish, and at time of her death was teaching geology, anthropology and archeology. She devoted a great deal of time to coaching the college rodeo team. At the time of her death she was serving as the director for the Central Rocky Mountain Rodeo Region. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking police science classes .at the college.

On Feb. 3, 1950, she was married to Charlie Hamilton at Sheridan.

Mrs. Hamilton had written and published numerous articles and one book. Many articles have also been published about her.

She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, and always spent a lot of time traveling and exploring in Mexico. She enjoyed family and friends as well as her ranch and her animals, and spent many hours horseback riding.

Survivors include one son, Kelly Hamilton of Parkman; one grandson, Hayden Hamilton of Sheridan; and one sister, Jimi Kerns of Yuma, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael.

Memorials to the police science scholarship fund would be appreciated by the family, and may be sent in care of Mary Lee Corley, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan, 82801.
