OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - August 5, 2003

Sheridan native Genevieve Timm Chesler, 79, of Alameda, Calif., died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at her residence after a yearlong illness. She was cremated, and services will be at a later date in Alameda.

Mrs. Chesler was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Sheridan to Lewis Timm and Kathryn Schneider Timm. She attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from high school in 1942.

She married Edward W. Chesler April 21, 1944.  He was in the Navy.

Mrs. Chesler earned an associate's degree from Alameda College and played the organ at various churches in Alameda.

She was a volunteer for Head Start as a teacher's aide and introduced children to ballet with books, activities and tickets each Christmas to the "Nutcracker."

She was preceded in death by a brother, William.

Survivors include her husband, of Alameda; a son, Robert; a sister, Betty Timm Kulish; a brother, Henry Timm; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and -nephews.
