Raymond George THEISEN 1924 - 1945 SHS 1942

Son of Peter J. Theisen who resided in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Raymond served as a Sergeant & Ball Turret Gunner on B-24H "Pin-Up-Girl" #42-94941, 705th Bomber Squadron, 446th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Albany County, Wyoming prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on July 16, 1943 at Fort Francis E. Warren, Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

B-24H #42-94941 took off from station AAF 125 in England for a bombing mission over Bayreuth, Germany. They were hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire. The B-24 caught on fire and crashed behind the villa Bijdorp in Holland during the war.

Raymond was "Killed In Action" on this mission during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was interred somewhere in Wyoming.
