Donald Eugene SIMMONS 1922 - 1993 SHS 1942

Services for Donald E. Simmons, 71, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Ferris Funeral Home by Rev. Arden Haeffner.

Mr. Simmons died June 20, 1993, at his home in Sheridan of natural causes.

He was born June 14, 1922, in Sheridan to Henry and Mabel Simmons. He graduated high school in Sheridan. He enlisted in. the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II.

On Aug. 13, 1946, he married Bertha Washut in Hardin, Mont.

Mr. Simmons worked for the telephone company for a few years and then owned and operated his own fencing company until his retirement.

He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 520, Masonic Lodge No. 8, Eagles Lodge No. 1 86 and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard of Berlin, Germany, Curt of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dewey of Sheridan; and two Simmons daughters, Donna Loescher of Milwaukee, Wis. and Carol Thomas of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Gordon Simmons of Missoula, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials to either the Lupus Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation may be made in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, Sheridan 82801.
