Charles Angus ROSS 1923 - 1988 SHS 1942

Lifelong Sheridan resident Charles Anugs Ross, 64, died Friday at his home.

Born May 20, 1923, in Sheridan To Angus and Maude Hamel Ross, he attended the University of Wyoming. A World War II paratrooper, he received the Bronze Star with clusters.

Mr. Ross worked some 30 years a mechanic for Peter Kiewit and Decker Coal.

A son, Richard, and a brother, Richard, preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan Defoe, Glenrock, Mary Doerr, Sheridan, and Patty Ross, Scottsdale, Aris.; three sons, Dr. Greg Ross, Omaha, Neb., Scott Ross, Kirby, Mont., and Rod Ross, Sheridan: his mother of Sheridan; a brother, Robert Ross, Missoula, Mont.; and six grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight at Champion Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Ray Moss officiating, with burial in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Memorials may benefit Perkins Foundation in care of Rose Marie Madia, First Interstate Bank of Sheridan.
