James Muller, 87, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Jim was born to Jacob and Etta Mae Muller in Sheridan, Wyoming. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1942.

Jim later married Jean Snyder in 1946.

He worked for Peter Kiewit for 28 years in various capacities including Rosebud Coal Sales, Decker Coal and over the road equipment hauler.

He raised Sugar Beets for numerous years.

He ranched and farmed the family homestead in Decker, Montana until 1988 when he moved to Dayton, Wyoming to retire.

In 2008 he moved to Sheridan, Wyoming.

Jim also was a past committee member of the Sheridan Johnson REA and an Honorary Member of the FFA.

Jim also enjoyed his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, traveling and he loved his ranch.

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Bonnie Barker of Sheridan.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jean Muller and his five children, Sharon (James) Freeman of Great Falls, Montana, Roberta (Frank) Schrater of Buffalo, Wyoming, Linda (Dick) Carr of Banner, Wyoming, Gary (Shirley) Muller of Sheridan, Wyoming and Marcia (Kip) Gillis of Wolf, Wyoming; grandchildren Cara Carr, Eric Warren, Heather Maslowski, Ryan Gillis, Steve (Shawna) Schrater, Tami (Juel) Afdahl, Lisa (Kevin) Freeman-Cook, Lori (Dominique) deVangel, Jamie (Shawn) Sayer and Ryan (Vaida) Gillis.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastors Dan Keller and Hayden Porter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, checks can be made to the Sheridan County School District #2. Memorials will benefit the Sheridan FFA Chapter, c/o James Muller Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 919, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801.
