Betty May LEWIS Conner 1922 - 2015 SHS 1942

Betty May Lewis Conner, 92, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Sheridan Manor.

She was born in Dixon, Wyoming on December 2, 1922, the third child of Harry W. and Pauline Clardy Lewis. She started school in a one room school house in Kirby, MT. She also attended schools in Clearmont, Big Horn and graduated from Sheridan High School. After high school she attended Nursing School for a time and went on to work for the Sawyers Stores, selling feed throughout Montana and Wyoming.

On March 15, 1945 she married the love of her life, Lawrence G. Conner. They moved to San Diego, California until Lawrence's discharge from the Navy after the War. They returned to Decker, Montana where they joined the Conner family ranch. After they sold the ranch in 1948, they returned to Sheridan. She was part owner of the R A Ceramic Shop in Sheridan with her sister, Jenny Moyer and her Mother.

She loved living a full life ranching, growing a huge garden, cooking and feeding everyone who came to her door. Her hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and her Grandchildren.

Betty is proceeded in death by her husband Lawrence, her parents, a grandson Guy W. Willey, a son-in-law John D. Koltiska, three brothers, John J. (Jack) Lewis of Meeteese, WY, Robert Lewis of Casper, WY, Ralph Lewis of CA. Three sisters, Jenny Moyer, Jo Smith, and Jane Durkee all of Sheridan, WY.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Jo Lee Layton (Denis), Robyn Koltiska, four grandchildren, John D. Koltiska (Michelle), Spencer D. Willey, James M. Koltiska (Rochelle) and Becky Bradford (Chad), twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
