Dora Francis Lupton, 86, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan.

Dora was the oldest of five children born to Ralph and Cora (Williams) DeLapp on June 5, 1924 in Havre, MT. The family moved to the Williams Ranch on Tongue River near Acme when she was ten. She attended Acme school and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married Cecil Lupton on June 18, 1947 at the Williams Ranch and they lived on the Lupton family homestead on Ash Creek from then until 1970 when they moved to Sheridan.

Dora was a 4-H leader and active member of the Lower Tongue Homemakers, Farm Bureau and Bot Sots RV group.

She was the secretary for the Sheridan County Farm Bureau for many years.

She loved to crochet and made hundreds of lap throws for the nursing homes and afghans for all the grandchildren for graduation.

She especially enjoyed watching Nuggets and Rockies games.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 52 years in 2001, 2 day old son Marvin in 1957, son Rex (9) in 1963, sister Harriet, brother Ralph and son-in-law Larry Ostermyer in 2008.

She is survived by twin daughters Jean Ostermyer of Sheridan and Jaci (Walt) Austin of Ranchester and sons Ray (Katy) Lupton of Sheridan and Stanley “Ed” (Diana) of Laramie. Grand, great and great great grandchildren: Lea (Kevin) Koenig of Sheridan; Kim (Jamie) Ostermyer, Ander and Coen of Sheridan; Janet Austin and Raymond Austin of Sheridan; Michelle Cory of Sheridan; Fran (Mark) Smith, Phillip, Devin and son Mattix of Sheridan; Dan (Rhonda) Cory, Cassie and Calieb of Brooklyn, WI; Paul (Donna) Lupton, Devon, Dylan and Addison of Accra, Ghana; Melanie (Bryan) Brown, Avery, Lacey and Chelsey of Marshfield, MO; Stacy (Scott) Schneider, Curtis, Katelyn, Allia and Jacob of Huntley, MT; Perizada (Monte) Buchanan, Abigail and Gideon of Laramie and Jory (Christina) Lloyd of Cheyenne. She is also survived by brothers Neil (Norma) DeLapp of Kaycee and Don DeLapp of Sheridan as well as many, many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Dora will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Keller officiating, with a reception to follow at the Kane Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held next spring where she will join her husband Cecil and son Rex.
