OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - November 08 2004

SHERIDAN -- Funeral services for M. Roberta "Bert" Poll, 79, will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with the Rev.s David Duprey and Ray Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic No. 8 section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She died Oct. 31, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Meeker, Colo.

Born Nov. 22, 1926, in Roundup, Mont., she was the daughter of Otto V. and Ina Dora (Purdum) Hill. She was raised and educated in Roundup and Sheridan. She went on to attend the University of Wyoming on a "full-ride" academic scholarship.

In October of 1946, she married Joseph J. Poll in Billings, Mont. She worked for several businesses in Sheridan before becoming a mother and full-time homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death in 1999.

A parishioner of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, she was active in the Women's Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Sheridan Country Club, the Sun City Country Club of Sun City, Ariz., and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter A.M.

In her leisure, she enjoyed golfing, gardening, sewing, cooking and being a seasonal resident of her winter home in Arizona. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her happy demeanor and positive attitude about life.

Survivors include her sons, David Poll, and Dennis Poll and his wife, all of Sheridan; her sisters, Ruth Rader of Sheridan and Jean Thompson of Seattle, Wash.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and a great-grandchild.
