Harriett Eve "Hattie" DELAPP 1925 - 1996 SHS 1942

SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Harriett Eve "Hattie" DeLapp, 70, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Trumble officiating. She died June 17. 1996, at Valley Health Care in Billings, Mont.

She was born at the Williams Ranch on Lower Tongue River on June 19, 1925, the daughter of Ralph E. DeLapp and Cora L. Williams DeLapp. She attended grade school at Havre, Mont .and Acme and graduated from Sheridan High School. She then attended the University of Wyoming.

She worked for Dr. Flett in Cheyenne and the Wyoming Heart Association. She moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she worked for the Texas Heart Association. She moved to Omaha. Neb., where she worked for the Nebraska Heart Association. She then went to work for Creighton University's regional medical program. She was the director of continuing medical education at Creighton and was also assistant to the Dean Joe Holthaus. She worked at Creighton for a total of 22 years before retiring.

Alter her retirement, she moved back to Sheridan and lived on the family ranch on the Lower Tongue River. She served on the School District No. 2 School Board, was involved with the All-American Indian Days in the 1960s, was a member of the Sheridan County Cattlewomen, the Assistance League of Omaha and Tri-Heta Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her sister, Dora Lupton of Sheridan and her three brothers. Ralph DeLapp Jr., of Fall lover Mills. Calif., Neil DeLapp of Kaycee and Don DeLapp of Sheridan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
